Asian buyers hope to increase imports of American liquefied natural gas to avoid Trump's tariffs
Jinshi data, February 11th news, according to foreign media statistics, at least six Asian economies have expressed interest in purchasing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to narrow the trade deficit with the United States and avoid tariffs, while other economies hope to expand and diversify their supplies. The United States is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas. After the Trump administration canceled the suspension of new liquefied natural gas export permits in January, U.S. companies are advancing new or expanded export capacity projects. Trump's decision could pave the way for an increase of nearly 100 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year by 2031.
