Ethereum Charts Its Future With Fusaka – Can ETH Bulls Break $5K? - Crypto News Flash

  • Ethereum’s core developers are aiming to roll out the next major upgrade, Fusaka, in November, following Pectra.
  • They’re also starting to plan for the Glamsterdam upgrade by gathering ideas and feedback from the community.

Since Ethereum’s Pectra upgrade went live, one of the most game-changing updates has been the boost in the maximum stake allowed per validator, from 32 ETH to a massive 2,048 ETH. This shift gave major staking providers the ability to combine thousands of smaller validators into fewer, more powerful ones. The result? A big improvement in operational efficiency, with significantly lower hardware and maintenance demands across the board.

With those gains in place, Ethereum is now gearing up for its next big evolution: the Fusaka hard fork, tentatively scheduled for November 2025. Named after a blend of “Fulu” and “Osaka,” Fusaka will build on Pectra’s momentum with a series of coordinated steps. The timeline begins with a key decision on the engine_getblob API on July 22, followed by the launch of Devnet-3 on July 23.

What’s Changing?

Ethereum’s upgrade is packed with thoughtful improvements. One of the key proposals, EIP-7825, along with a planned increase in the gas limit, aims to enhance overall performance, making transactions smoother and giving developers more flexibility.

A major highlight is something called Peer Data Availability Sampling (PeerDAS). It’s a smart networking feature that lets Ethereum’s beacon nodes check if large pieces of data (known as blobs) are available, without having to download them entirely. It’s a big leap forward for scalability, keeping the system lean and decentralized.

Another critical piece is EIP-7951, which brings Ethereum’s signature standards in line with the secure authentication used by billions of hardware devices globally. This not only tightens security but also opens the door for account abstraction, a long-awaited feature that could make interacting with Ethereum much more user-friendly.

In late August, developers are expected to drop public testnet clients. That will pave the way for two major testnet upgrades, one happening between September 22 and October 3, and another from October 6 to 10. If testing goes smoothly, the Fusaka upgrade should hit Ethereum’s Mainnet sometime between November 5 and 12.

The 2026 upgrade for Ethereum, Glamsterdam, is already taking shape. The main focus right now? Building out components like external Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) and Block Auction Layers (BALs). In the next few weeks, the core devs plan to start gathering feedback from key players like Flashbots, Layer 2 projects, and other ecosystem partners.

ETH on the rise to $5000?

The Ethereum Foundation announced on its X account a campaign to mark the network’s 10th anniversary: a symbolic NFT called “The Ethereum Torch.” This digital torch is being passed from one wallet to another every 24 hours until July 30, representing ten days of community celebration and unity. Kicking things off is Joseph Lubin, Ethereum co-founder and founder of ConsenSys, who held the torch first before passing it along to the next contributor.

While the community celebrates its legacy, Ethereum’s market performance is also strong. In just the past week, ETH has surged by 23.69%. And today, ETH’s price climbed another 2.92%, reaching $3,809. Its trading volume has soared as well, up 36% to $43 billion.

With ETH recently breaking through the key resistance level of $3,700, analysts are now watching closely as it eyes the next psychological milestones, $4,000 and possibly even $5,000.
