The Runestone new rune project Airdrop is imminent, and the Snapshot has been completed, awaiting protocol release.

Runestone: Emerging rune project is about to Airdrop

Recently, a new rune project called Runestone has attracted widespread attention from the cryptocurrency community. This project was inspired by a well-known rune token and aims to bring a fairer and more inclusive distribution mechanism to the Ordinals ecosystem.

Project Background

Runestone was initiated by a well-known developer in the Ordinals ecosystem. The founder believes that previous rune projects had shortcomings in their distribution methods, so they decided to launch a fairer alternative. To support this plan, community members collectively raised approximately $70,000 as Airdrop funds.

Airdrop Details

The total supply of Runestone is 110,000, and each eligible address can receive up to one. The project team completed a snapshot at block height 826,600 (coincidentally the first anniversary of Ordinals). It is worth noting that the Airdrop will first be distributed in the form of inscriptions. Once the rune protocol development is completed, holders will be able to exchange them 1:1 for Runestone runes.

Distribution Criteria

The eligibility review for the airdrop considers multiple factors, including the number of runes held by the user and the file types of those runes. The final published criteria are: addresses holding 3 or more non-text/JSON type runes will be eligible to participate in the airdrop.

Meaning of Symbols

Runestone uses "ᛤ" as its symbol, which is derived from Anglo-Saxon runes. Although its exact meaning is difficult to verify, the word "Rune" means "secret" in Greek and is closely associated with the god Odin in Norse mythology.

Notes

  1. The snapshot has been completed, no further action is required.
  2. The airdrop timing has not yet been determined, it is recommended to follow the project's official channels for the latest information.
  3. The initial airdrop is in the form of inscriptions, and the rune version will be exchanged at a 1:1 ratio after the protocol development is completed.
  4. The developers plan to release the rune protocol during the Bitcoin halving (block height 840000).
  5. Runestone is a pure Airdrop project, with no steps that require users to actively mint.
